Terms of Use for VEGAN.IST

1. Scope

These Terms of Use govern use of the VEGAN.IST platform by registered and unregistered users.

The platform is operated by:

vegan.ist c/o Ocean Internet Services Deniz Burucu Am Meerberg 16 38124 Braunschweig Germany

By registering a user account or using the platform, users accept these Terms of Use.

2. Purpose of the platform

VEGAN.IST is a community and events platform for vegan and related topics. Users may in particular:

• create user accounts
• publish their own events
• create profiles
• upload images and content
• post comments
• send messages
• discover events

VEGAN.IST provides the platform and technical infrastructure and is generally not the organiser of published events.

3. Registration and user account

Certain features require registration.

Registration is currently possible via:

• email and password
• Google sign-in
• Facebook sign-in

By registering, users confirm that:

• their details are complete and accurate
• they are at least 16 years old
• they do not use another person’s identity
• they do not misuse their account

Login credentials must be kept confidential and must not be shared with third parties.

4. Consent on registration

On registration, the user must confirm:

“I have read and accept the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.”

Registration is not possible without this consent.

5. User content

Users may publish content on VEGAN.IST, in particular:

• event listings
• images
• text
• comments
• profile information
• messages

The user remains the owner of their content.

By uploading content, the user grants VEGAN.IST a non-exclusive, worldwide right to use that content for display, storage, distribution, and technical provision on the platform.

6. Prohibited content and conduct

The following content or conduct is prohibited:

• unlawful content
• hate speech
• discrimination
• abusive or insulting content
• glorification of violence
• spam
• misleading or deliberately false events
• advertising without consent
• copyright infringement
• publication of third parties’ personal data without consent
• content unrelated to the platform or community
• abusive use of the platform

VEGAN.IST may remove content without prior notice.

7. Events and responsibility

VEGAN.IST is generally not the organiser of listed events.

Events are created and managed by users or third parties.

VEGAN.IST does not warrant:

• accuracy of event information
• timeliness of data
• changes
• postponements
• cancellations
• availability
• that an event will take place

Users are responsible for verifying information with the respective organiser.

8. Moderation and blocking

VEGAN.IST may restrict, deactivate, or delete content, user accounts, or features at any time if:

• these Terms of Use are violated
• security risks arise
• abuse is identified
• technical or legal reasons require it

There is no entitlement to permanent availability of any specific feature.

9. Fees and future features

Use of VEGAN.IST is currently free of charge.

VEGAN.IST may introduce additional features in the future, for example:

• advertising
• voluntary donations to organisations
• voluntary donations to the platform
• paid additional features

Any paid use will only occur after separate notice and explicit consent.

10. Liability

VEGAN.IST is liable only to the extent required by law.

VEGAN.IST is in particular not liable for:

• user content
• third-party events
• cancelled events
• incorrect information
• data loss
• interruptions or outages
• damage caused by user conduct

This limitation of liability does not apply in cases of intent, gross negligence, or where liability is mandatory by law.

11. Privacy

Personal data is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these Terms of Use

VEGAN.IST may change these Terms of Use where necessary.

Users will be informed of material changes.

13. Applicable law

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Final provisions

If individual provisions of these Terms of Use are or become wholly or partly invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
